A straightforward poll.

An oversimplification of a complex topic.

I'm against a cure. I'm not sick, I'm autistic!

How do I know you aren't disguising this data to attempt to support your Man Forum proposal?

Same. I'm against it for myself (though I wouldn't mind alleviating some of the symptoms), but I'm not against it for someone who actually wants it for him/herself.

I'm not against a cure, therefore I chose that I am with a cure.
A straightforward reply - as opposed to a GARGANTUAN complex and all together enraging reply.

I voted with, as I don't see a problem for that to be available for those who want or need it to function. I am however against it being forced.

How can one be either for or against something which is not possible?

Yeah, it's like asking, "Are you for or against the practice of transferring one's brain pattern to the brain of a younger forced-growth clone?"

And that's no exaggeration. If we can cure autism, we'll be able to do that sort of thing too.

It kind of amazes me in retrospect that there was so little discussion of Gold Cross' ethics. Then again, a game about cars shooting it out on the Mad Max-style dystopian freeways probably didn't go too deeply into such ideas.

Or, for that matter, in the GURPS materials that drew upon the same technology.

I wish there was a cure available for low functioning autistics that could be given at the first sign of low functioning autism to cure them completly or bring them up to a HFA level.

Medical science is too busy making sure men can have erections and hair to worry about autism and cancer.

And thank Jebus for men with hair and erections! Yeah!

Oh sorry, aspie moment LOL.... Yeah, I'm definitely a little awkward. In response to the poll. I have to go with the ones saying yes, a cure would be good, but only if it was unforced. I personally like who I am... It makes life more interesting to be me I think. So I wouldn't want it, but I do know of many who would be grateful for a reprieve from ASD.

Why cure cancer and autism? They make a lot of money in there research, medicine, treatments, and therapies.
