What if......A question often asked.

But what if "we" as aspies could fly, have super strenght, wield lightsabers, pretect the innocent, be almost indestructible in our abillity to fend of the foes of society.....

I think its all true and hapening this very second....In mind if not in body so whos to say WE are the people with mental dissorders.

Yeah, that would be nice. To have superpowers. Like the "ugly duckling", we are really swans.

I agree with you whole heartedly.
Superpowers would be awesome! I want to fly, and be able to just be a great fighter!

Are you suggesting Aspies are the next phase in human development and some are already there? I like that idea. 8)

Do Aspies have a higher incidence of psychic abilities? It would be interesting to see if that is the case.

I think that if I had super powers, I would end up like Darth Vader and destroying everything.

No matter how hard I try, I know the dark side of me would take over.

That'd be cool to be able to be a woman version of Spiderman (except it would obviously have to be changed to Spiderwoman). Or maybe Aspi(e)derwoman or something (to try to contain the word aspie, spider, and woman).

We all want superpowers but we already have them, in our minds. The abillity to be individual, mentally, psychologically different yet look plain and normal on the outside.....

Protect the innocent? F*** that. If I had super-powers, I'd be blowing me up some innocents.

NOT a cool idea IMO. Then things would wind up exactly like in the "X-Men" comics (probably complete with the mutatns' common terrible taste in clothing) except imagine if most of the mutants were also completely mixed up about the way the social world worked, thus creating even more chaos and prejudice. Lotsa people'd die, there'd be prejudice and feelings of superiority on both sides...it'd just not work out that way. Things in the real world don't turn out the way they do in "happier" superhero comics.

Same with me, I would think. Knowing myself relatively well, the power from being a superhero would probably end up corrupting my morals and mindset on life.

It would be fun to rule over people though, wouldn't it. I would like a to be a super-powered king of the earth. 8)

Im talking about phsycological powers, powers that people without AS dont often have, like think of your greatest hero of all time, superhero, writer, singer, whatever, what do you like them for?? Is one factor perhaps because they have individual and unique abillities?? What about each and every person with AS?? We are all individuals that retreat into our hidden fortress where noone else can get in, when we are in public view we try and answar as little as possible not wanting to expose ourselves. Do we not each have our own unique qualities?? I think we do and if the majority of society could see how some of us can absorb vast quantities of knowledge, or what intense pollitical beliefs some have or how well some of us can talk so well about different subjects then isnt that making us the "individuals" that a lot of NTs and ASs aspire to

I made a super hero called "Aspie Man" that had AS, obviously. It was to help people with AS feel better about having the abilities/inabilities that they do. AS people do have a lot in common with super heroes. You have a great point, and I have realized this before.
