Tell us the narrowest special interest you have had in life, I mean super narrow, not necessarily intense, just really specific, if a usual special interest for an autistic is a book, then an unusually narrow one is a book's specific page.

two come to mind for me right now:

*The 18th second of radioheads song "videotape" http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Qvv-LpTBWVk

*A musical chord I don't know the name of, but I just came across it accidentally. If you have a piano: go to the A minor triad below middle C, which is ACE, and bring the A note down a half step to G#, so it's G#CE unbroken triad.
I've constructed a whole peice around this single chord that I've just played over and over as the bass chord for various peices - right now it goes ACD, G#CD, GCD (which is C major) pulsating unbroken triads repeated quietly but quickly, I adore it.

Can anyone beat me with something even more narrow? :)

I've had narrow interests before, but you've got me beat! :P

But I'll share mine anyway for the heck of it:

The anime/manga series Hellsing and Trinity Blood. I was so obsessed with these two specific series that I refused to watch any other anime, movie or TV show for fear that my love for Hellsing and Trinity Blood would diminish. And I wouldn't watch/read the entire series from start to finish - I would pick out specific scenes featuring my favourite characters saying a few lines of dialogue and watch them over and over.

I don't know if this counts, but I used to watch The Eagle Has Landed every day. There is a specific scene in the film that I especially obsessed over:

Specifically, I used to wait for this line:
He reminds me of something that I occasionally pick up on my shoe in the gutter! Very unpleasant, on a hot day.

When I was about 12 I devoted two years of my life to Westinghouse Air Brakes.

When I was a kid I was a pretty decent botanist; I knew hundreds of species of Cactii, Pitcher plants and other plants. I had around 50 Cactii, and I knew a tonne about grafted cactii in particular.

I was a strange kid.

C augmented, second inversion maybe?

Maps of the US in atlases. I have painful memories of that time. I was 10.

Doesn't beat OP's, I think, but a specific part of a specific song holds my interest significantly.

There's a song from the Halo 3 soundtrack called "Never Forget". I'm not so into Halo as a game, but I can admit that it has an amazing score.

Between 0:56 and 1:02, then again between 1:51 and 2:07. There's something about those parts of the song that I can't shake, and I've learned to play them, I've messed around with them looking for interesting patterns...it's just that they're so...enchanting, I guess. Those bits play over and over in my head.

My special interest when I was 7-10 was very weird...it was the patterns of backs of women's bathing suits. I had names for all of them and drew them repeatedly.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.

I was interested in a few specific ferries when I was interested in ferries when I was about 9-11.

As a child I only had one interest until I was about a teenager. That was drawing dogs. I would draw them over and over again for hours. Now I'm quite the canine artist, I've just got to catch up on drawing other things too.

My interests aren't narrow at all. Everyone that has posted here has me beat by far.

Same. I don't have any narrow interests. I mean when I was a kid I would only listen to hip-hop music, but I think that was more of a phase than anything
