I feel like I’m living in a jungle surrounded by chimps, they are very noisy, swinging from trees and throwing faeces at each other and sometimes at me. They think I should be one of them but they can’t convince me to be like them and I can’t convince them to be more like I am. I want to just get away from this chimp society and find a nice patch of jungle away from them and build a hut there but the chimps are everywhere and they own all the land. If I want to have a place to live at all I have to work for the chimps and collect useless tokens they give me until I have enough that they give me somewhere to live but to keep it I have to work for them for the rest of my life and live in their society and obey their rules.

Well that’s my crazy story over but how can I escape? If there was somewhere called Asperger’s Island I would move there but there isn’t Is there any hope of being free from a society I don’t belong in?

This is actually a fairly widely held sentiment. I've noticed a lot of NTs(the smarter ones) upset about how stupid our surrounding society has become.

Nice analogy there!

The "chimps" are neither sane nor rational, yet they are usually quite predictable ...

... so the challenge is to live in spite of them, and you can do that by letting them think they thought of everything.

I just dont feel right about using money or paying taxes or living somewhere with laws I dont agree with even if I may not want to break them anyway. I have such a strong urge to be free but I can't in this society, I can't even go outside in my natural form or I will be locked in a cage for my "indecent" body

Then let's make it, were all smart right? This website is only the beginning and when the meteorite comes it won't be Bruce Willis they turn to it will be the people of Aspergers Island

Ironically I was going to post something similar. Islands are obtainable. All we need is a council and financial investors within our community. Food for thought! :D

Not a bad idea for a Utopian social experiment... hmmmm... a bunch of intelligent focused people all working toward a common goal.

Maybe the Venus Project/Zeitgeist Movement would be interested... CLICKY HERE for the Venus Project

It's a dream but I would actually be willing to provide financial support if it were ever initiated, it would be so interesting to see a new country for aspies being created on an island somewhere. What would our flag and national anthem be? I vote for Mozarts Requiem so we all have to get some singing practice in

I believe we call it "silicon valley"

But yea, most people are stupid, poop flinging, smelly primates. Unfortunately there really isn't anything you can do about it. You just can't fix stupid.

One day soon, someone will try to right all the wrongs and give place for everyone in the world. I'm sure they'll accept all the help they can get. It will take more than just politics to fix this international crisis.

Can you guys help me with something here....???

Doesn't EVERYONE want to sit around in the nude and do the things THEY want to do? I mean how are "we" different than NTs with that desire and what makes us so "special" that we should just be entitled to do it?

I am really very curious about this as the adult aspergers in my town (many of them) seem to hold this same sentiment. It feels like "entitlement" to me but perhaps I am missing out on some key thing???

I don't think it's any sense of entitlement, but rather a frustration and alienation about the fact that to survive entails getting caught up in the drives and motivations which we do not feel. Things like money, power and dominance.

And I mean money in the sense of the endless and pointless acquisition of wealth, long past the need to satisfy comfortable living requirements. Better known as greed.
