I like to be heard. I get upset when I'm talking and nobody's listening to me, or people interrupt me. Just because I sometimes am mute, doesn't mean I don't want to be heard. It's because I have nothing to say at the time, and that either nobody else is talking or everybody else is talking all at once, and so I can't get a word in edgeways.

I don't like to be seen that much. I hate people predicting me. People always expect more from me, and I get sick. I've always got to smile all the time, and be happy, when I might not want to be happy. It's all right for other people to choose when they don't want to be happy, so why can't I? Also I don't like people looking at me in the street. I wish they would leave me alone and perhaps stare at someone who is worth staring at, (eg someone with a jester hat on, or someone being a spastic - there's always one out there. But it's never me - I go out looking and acting normal).

I feel the same way about being heard. I find it SO frustrating when people ignore me when I speak or just choose not to answer or interrupt me.
I do like to be seen sometimes. Not often though. :?

Yes, I don't ask for attention often so it's frustrating to be disregarded when I do.

I really don't like being the focal point of attention. I could very easily withdraw from this world and live a very secluded life. I haven't yet figured out what compels me to keep trying to find a place in the manic activity that goes on around me, but I can't seem to turn my back on the idea of participating in the world.

Weird.

I voted depends, because even when I stay calm and speak in good manner my speech easily can be hard to understand. So, I prefer face to face speaking to speaking via phone or internet. (well, I don't look at the face always).

It comes to my mind, when I was in my teens, noticed someone staring at me, I just stared back... I was irritated by being stared at.

I voted neither. I prefer to blend in, don't like to be noticed. I am wary when I enter bars or restaurants, put on a very serious face. I do re-enactments, and I portray historical figures. Then I like the attention, and I perform, being a a good actor.

I figure if I have a role, I can't go wrong. I know what I have to do and what to say. Being myself is harder, and I am concerned others will see I am not the same as they are. I feel socially inept, and I often hear, but cannot discern what people say----so I end up looking weird or saying things out of context.

Me too, for that reason and because I'm less conscious about how I sound than how I look.

I don't know why but I hate it when people look at me. What's frustrating is when I actually do have something to say, and when I'm done talking their response is always "wow you have a really deep voice" or "dude I can't believe you actually talked." And people wonder why I hardly ever say anything.

I prefer to me heard, because I have a lot of things to get off my mind and my chest.

When I try to speak I should prefer to be heard. Past praying for. I would not object to invisibility - especially if it affectded me looking in mirror.

I prefer to go unnoticed in the background.

I hate to be observed, which means being seen or heard. Most of the time I am like some shy animal who keeps under cover and only very reluctantly crosses open, well-lighted spaces. On the other hand, from time to time I crave public performance--acting, public speaking, hosting--in fact, my last "job" was as a tour guide. The most important feature of this public performance is that it be tightly scripted. Once it's over that facet of my personality disappears and I am, with some sense of relief, back in the shadows again.

I love it when people hear me without jugdeing. It's almost as good as takeing a sip of cool water in the middle of a bone dry desert.

I hate it when people send the "wow you talked" responce. I find it ignorant, personaly.

Same with me! Or they say something like "your voice is very monotone."

I like to be heard! Once a person didn't talk to me at all, even when I talked to her. I would tell her a story and she would say "oh" and I'd say something else, related to the topic, and she said "oh" again. I would try changing the topic and she would still be doing it. She really only talked to me when she was annoyed with me. She was one of those people assume they know what's best for you before they really know you. She didn't take the time to get to know me at all, she just assumed that because I had an ASD, that I would operate in a certain way.
