Hi, I am pretty much a half-aspie. I used to think I was diagnosed for the past year, but apparently I'm not. According to whoever tested me, I do come pretty close. I can get along with NTs for the most part, but still feel isolation, unless their people I talk to every day. So I'll call myself an I don't know.

But this is not about me, it's about my friend who is a full aspie, diagnosed and everything.

Before this gets confusing, my autistic friend I will call Y, and the girl K.

Theirs a girl, K who likes Y (she told me she was in love with him at one point.) They have been talking to each other almost every day on Skype for a few months, 6 or 8 is my guess. Though Y sometimes ignores her or takes a day to respond. They know each other only on Skype, but their only like a few hours away from each other, and Y can drive.

K has asked Y if he would be her boyfriend 3 times, 2 he said no, and the other time he ignored her completely. I still have a bit of faith that it can happen, reguardless of the distance, and of course his disability. I see how he gets sometimes just resisting some social situations, but something similar happened to me when I stalled like crazy with a girl who liked me and I liked a lot. We knew each other in person unlike Y and K. So I feel like I can somewhat understand what he's doing, but because his Aspie case is worse then mine I'm not sure how to get him to open up.

I was also wondering that if getting them to start seeing each other in person which may be a possibility, would help him out. I don't believe he said no because he personally does not like her, but is just uncomfortable, needs space, or any feeling of isolation bought on by his disability. He told me he spends his free time alone on his computer doing nothing since the eighth grade in despair, and I think it's time those days for him come to an end.

Excuse my writing if its confusing, I do have a habit of poor writing but will be proofreading a few times, and adding any important details I forget.

Why stress about this. It's his life. He's not ready. Repeat. He's not ready.

Why do this girl the disfavor of pushing an unformed man upon her? Allow her to learn the lesson, on her own, of letting go of a guy who's not ready to perform.
