I just read on a list of asperger traits that people with aspergers are impulsive. Aren't they completely the opposite of impulsive? Don't people with aspergers hate a disturbance in their daily routine, and want to know everything that will happen beforehand so they can plan and prepare for it beforehand?

This is less waking up one day and deciding to go jump out a plain, more acting on impulse; doing something without thinking of the consequences.

Neither type of impulsiveness is found in my personal bag of tricks.

I think that people with this disorder are a bit impulsive, including myself. Impusiveness can also lead to aggresiveness. :?

My mom also says impulsive is an aspie trait but even people with AD/HD share this trait too.

I was very impulsive as a child. if you told me to not do something, I'd do it anyway just to see what would happen or because I got curious. Like if I was told to not touch something, I'd do it just to see what it felt like. Or mom telling me to not touch the stove because it's hot and I'd touch it just to see how hot it is.

I don't believe that I'm very impulsive at all. I tend to think about anything for a long time before doing it. It annoys other people.

I'm not impulsive at all. In any way. Not ever.

I'm both a cautious person and an impulsive person. Impulsive in what I say, some decisions and definitely and impulsive shopper. Sometimes I don't even check the pricetag.
I have combined ADHD too so I don't know whether I'll be more impulsive or too cautious.

When it's a major decision, such as moving out of state or changing jobs, I am extremely impulsive. but when it's something small I swing to the far extreme, when trying to decide which pair of shoes to wear that day, or whether or not to buy a jar of peanut butter, I freeze up trying to decide....

I have been impulsive on really big things. Example: I decided I was moving from Arizona to Florida to go back to school and was packing my car to move in a span of 3 weeks.

But I sometimes fret over little things like deciding what to order for a company sponsored lunch at a restaurant I have never been to (spent almost an hour studying the menu online before we left).

Same here. Along with my AS comes ADHD Combined-type, so one second I can be impulsive and hyperactive, the next I'll be overly cautious and examine every move I make.
