It was mentioned on the radio the other morning, and I was saying it the whole day.

I do this with words I haven't heard before, or sometimes with peoples names.

but more often then single words I'll repeat a line from a movie or song, over and over and over again, sometimes for days.

No, but I have been confounded by an idiom.

I sometimes get stuck where I can't remember a word in the middle of a sentence and can't continue until I think of the exact word I forgot.

I don't tend to get stuck on a single word, it's more likely to be a sentence; mostly of Asian origin.

I got stuck on the word "people" once.

I've also get stuck on phrases like "hair in the water", "the water smells like cow", I think she's got motion sickness", "Mrs. Stevenson, mommy!" and "Sootie turned into a shoe!"

My signature, the Latin proverb. I couldn't stop repeating it in my head on one or two evenings about two month ago.

I frequently get words, phrases and people's names stuck in my head. The other day it was "Noam Chomsky". A few weeks ago it was "Ayn Rand".

Wow, if they showed it in a popular anime like Lucky Star, then I bet it's a lot more common than I thought!

Sure. Repeating a word over and over like you're playing with a toy? Lots of people do that, not just autistic ones. But I see it more often in little kids and autistics. And poets. :)

Edit: Actually, what was here before was rather unnecessary:

Happens to me all the time -- a word, phase, a snip it of a song. My wife says it is endearing, my 6 year old song hates it.

I do this but mainly because of my Tourettes. I physically can't control it. It doesn't offer any comfort to me! My most recent ones which have lasted over 5 months now (sigh...) are 'doggy', 'dog', and 'doggy fish biscuit'. It drives me mad!

Oh yeah and I echo that advert 'Talk to Frank' all the time...
