We on the spectrum do have some really positive traits and abilities that seem to get overshadowed by our negative ones.

What are they.

I'm a pretty good drummer for someone who only picked up a pair of sticks, 13 months ago.

We use logic

We have to use it more because it is a question of survival in the social jungle. So we naturally use it more elsewhere, it shapes our thinking and our intuition and we deliver sharp, cold, honest results fast.

EDIT: I missed the title, about myself? hum... I'm logic :p

Through years of study I know what other people want and need before they do and can be there for them.

After finding out I was diabetic about a year ago, it became my new special interest and I lost 50 pounds, completely changed my diet and now exercise regularly.

I am creative and take to the arts rather naturally. What takes others months to learn how to do...I can learn in about a week. There have been only one creative project I could not do, and it was not because of a lack of creativity or skill, but a lack of strength in my hands and that is broomaking. I requires bigger hands and more strength than I have. I had a meltdown in class because I could not hold the forming broom in my hands and the teacher had to finish it for me. I felt stupid...but because most creative jouneys come rather easy to me, when something is very hard for me...I just nut up.

I love to teach art to people, and I am always amazed at how people get it in their heads that they cant do something without even giving it a good college try. Most of my creative adventures begin with, "I wonder if......." I am creative because I am endlessly curious.

Thanks for your contributions of positives,

I am a very creative as well as logical thinker, am artistic and can sketch landscapes, play a musical instrument, I am compassionate and caring
and never give up. I will try my hand at anything and somehow get there in my own wied awkward autistic way.

Well thats about all I can really find amongst all my negatives.

There is more out there though so keep them coming.

Artistic, imaginative, empathetic, problem solver, drinking buddy, encylopedia, witty, avoids social drama and doesn't notice peer pressure to give in to it. Fads are nothing but candy sticks to me.

I'm very good in training dogs :)
They just like and trust me and I get them to do what I want in half of the time than others.
Sometimes my friends tell me: How to you get all the dogs to like you and follow you? do you have ham in your shoes? ;)

I am genuine. There's nothing fake about me. I am the same person online as in real life. I am the same person around strangers as I am around family and friends. I have nothing to hide.

I used to be oblivious to this particular trait of mine, but it has been pointed out to me a lot recently. I believe the people who have told me that I am genuine, and so I consider it to be one of my strongest traits.

This is my favourite one! :] Good for you for acknowledging this about yourself!

I can 100% honestly say that I've never judged someone based upon their race, age, status, or whatever else people seem to be judged by. I like or dislike people based upon what kind of person I find out they are after time.

IdahoRose,

I like genuine people
Being genuine and true to who you really are at all times is the only way to be. This trait is a real asset.

Chama,

I always accept and respect people regardless of any superficial difference without judging them, I only judge them on being a good person
or not. ( unless their nasty NTs ). There are some good NTs to though.

There is still a lot more positive stuff out there so keep it comming.

I'm only myself because I think I'm pretty amazing. Haha, J/K. I wouldn't even know how to be someone else. But I have this unintentional mimicry thing. I can pick up accents and mannerisms, particularly from British people.

Wow. This is a really good idea for a topic. I was feeling bummed down a bit before I came here, then I read this, and now I have a case of the "warm fuzzies" because of all the things that popped into my mind. But I digress, one thing I like about myself, is that I always beleive I can do something even if others think I can't. It's crazy how many people don't have this, and instead going around doubting themselves and say things like "I can't learn Japanese because I'm American" or maybe "I can't solve a Rubik's Cube because I'm bad at math" They just need to stop thinking about how they can't DO something NOW, and start thinking about how they can LEARN how NOW. But I digress again, I am greatful for having this curiosity/self confidence/optimism :)

I'm not afraid to be myself and I'm not afraid to like the things that I do these days, in the 21st Century. :)
