School systems (and other systems, I suppose) have to focus their limited resources where they can have the best outcomes for the most. These systems, however, seem mostly to be run by people who treat their prejudices and preconceptions as inviolable rules of the universe. Mostly NT-ish people, too... Now, when the Aspies take over the world, things will be different!

Yeah, that's true. I suppose I mean that if people weren't kept from their highest potential, then you couldn't have traditional jobs. You also wouldn't have a government, or money for that matter, and there wouldn't be any form of trade or barter or any other variation of debt or servitude or drop everything you are doing and come here right now or you will go to jail. But who would want to live in a society like that?

You left out "...and an unstoppable tendency to s**t where we eat." If I may be permitted the double crime of crude metaphor.
Seriously, we've got three separate major factions of delusional nutcases *ahem* sorry, I mean venerable, harmless and entirely admirable religions each spamming babies to try and win a domination victory, we're doing a splendid job of hosting our own Mass Extinction Event for any creature which we haven't kept around to eat, we've seriously devalued the leaf and never mind the unimportant stuff like oil, we're losing water and cropland. Basically, we're screwed, and h. sapiens best hope for a future where people can realise their potential is to play Global Thermonuclear War and hope whoever crawls out of the dust makes a better job of it next time round.

QTF, but people get really angry if I bring it up the fact that having children is a selfish decision and overpopulation is ruining the ecosphere, so I don't. It's too emotionally charged to debate.
