I'm wondering if being disorganised is an integral aspie trait, or just something I have

I just spent 20 minutes looking for my pen. I was in the middle of listening to a lecture I wanted to take some notes on. Earlier this week I tore my room up looking for a piece of paper with an appointment time written on it.

Anyway, how much of your time would you say you lose just looking for misplaced things??

50% I'm always losing stuff and am very disorganised. I can put a pen down and reach out for it ten seconds later and it has vanished and spend the next ten minutes looking for it!

I don't think I came into the world with any organizational sense at all. I have to find a home for things and put them back after I use them. Otherwise, I will start looking for something, but quickly get distracted by something else, so I never spend a lot of time looking for stuff.

My smartphone calendar helps me keep my appointments in one place, and without it, I'd miss more than I'd keep.

I am quite disorganized.....trying to actually set up a specific routine or schedule really just stressed me out and then i still end up continuing to do everything irregularly with no set routine or schedule.

I have an engineering background and as such tend toward formal organising. Lists, diary's and wee reminders left here and there

I become more organised, when my organs are more harmonised (eg no alcohol or drugs)

I'm quite the opposite. Everything needs a specific place and if it isn't in that place, I don't appreciate it. Actually half my time is spent organizing something if its "out of place" rather then searching for something. You could see organization is an integral part of my lifestyle. If it ain't organized then well we're going to have a problem, yeah.

People once asked me if I was in a military family, which I promptly responded I wasn't. Just cause I'm prepared with everything, yes I mean that quite literally my book bag has pens, scrap paper, notebooks, address book, calenders, appointment times. Everything has a place within in the bag. Doesn't mean that I am military. Just means I am organzied, rofl.

I'd say I lose about half my day looking for lost things. Many of these things are never found again.

I've bought organizers and lots of other things to help with this, but they just end up making things even more disorganized.

Not very much time these days, because I am really good about putting things in the same places all the time, but if something's out of place, it can be hours.

I'm also guilty of being disorganized, It happens more time than I'd care to admit.

Being organised does not come naturally to me.

Looking for missing things in particular, I'm not that bad, though I usually lose something often and just can not find it no matter where I look!

Protip: when you go to put something away, imagine where you'd look first if you were looking for it, then put it there.

My home is very organised and tidy because of me, everything in a right place, but my thinking tends to be disorganised.

I figure I'm going to spend a lot of time attempting to organize, or spend a lot of time making up for lack of organisation. The latter wins with me.

Its always hard.

Cause I either swing from either or extreme and can never find the perfect balance.

We lose an incredible amount of stuff around the house...... TV remotes, papers, etc., and the remotes are still missing. When stuff is missing it is usually gone. Things like this will throw me into a incredible hulk rage. It's funny now, but at the time........ look out.

They probably ended up in the garbage.

Executive function disorder.

Which reminds me, I throw away scissors all the time.

It ends up usually when I'm cooking dinner and I have to throw away the garbage, clean the counters, pick up any messes, etc.
