I've always been a horrible dancer. I suspect it comes from my (suspected) ASD, but I can't be sure.

Also, are there some of you who used to fail at dancing, but then learnt how to dance?

I do well if it is choreographed. I suck otherwise.

No, but gross motor skills issues are the only ASD attribute I don't really have. I was, however, much more clumsy as a kid.

I can't say that I've had trouble with dancing, but that's only because I can't do it at all, and realized it's not possible for me.

I want to learn to dance, but I'm not sure if it's possible at all for me. Though I'm not that much autistic.

I just move to the rhythm, but I still look kinda goofy. Some people just don't have the build and dexterity to look cool.

My sister and brother are excellent though.

They only thing you can do is try it.

What do you mean by dance? Uber-cool moves like on "So You Think You Can Dance?" or basic, not embarrass yourself at weddings and night clubs?

Oh god, I suck, so badly! =S I'm doing belly dancing at the moment though, and it's a lot easier for me. :)

I've never been comfortable with dancing. Back in school at the dances, I never knew what to do and was always uncomfortable with all the people around me. Fast-forward to today, I'm still uncomfortable to the point where I never dance at weddings. I just take one look at the dance floor and it looks like a tank of rabid pirannas waiting to chew me up and spit me out. Naturally, my sensativity towards loud music doesn't help things much.

Big part of the reason why I don't see myself getting married anytime in the forseeable future since dancing kinda plays a big part of that routine.

The second one, lol.

I have no idea about whether my coordination is good or not. I just don't know how to move in a manner that looks nice when viewed from outside. I can't tell what should I do to look good. In the same way that I can't tell how would someone feel to something I say (but the first one is worse).

I'm a terrible dancer, but that's because I've never learned how.... I'd like to take a class someday.

I have no problems with dancing. I started dance classes at 3yrs and I think that helped a lot. I do Zumba several times a week and have no problems following the instructor. I'm able to hyper-focus on her and mirror her movements very easily and remember the routines without too many demonstrations. On the other hand, I don't have very good gross motor skills at other times. I'm quite clumsy and don't have great balance. For some reason, when I'm dancing, I'm able to control that.

My coordination is rather poor, I'm clumsy, and always forget the steps and moves when it comes to dancing. A hopeless case. Although, I used to dance a little when I was a kid. I also avoid dancing whenever I can and do as little as possible mandatory dancing on weddings. When I'll get married (if ever), let this be my biggest problem...

I love dancing with my nieces and nephews at weddings because it's fun. Also they don't judge my complete lack of ability. That will probably change as they get older though and they learn how :ncool: I look
