A lot of people are officially diagnosed as adults. It makes no sense that someone would tell you that you can't be diagnosed at 17. It is probably the best time for you to get a diagnosis, as it tends to be harder as an adult.

I just recently watched the "Walking With..." series, which renewed my interest a bit as well as doing some research into evolution to better understand things. The series had a lot of technical and factual inaccuracies but gave a kind of picture over time that I found really fascinating - how herbivores are under so much more pressure and often evolve to become practically invincible, dangerous to predators, or both. Also how animals kept evolving to fill the same basic niches over and over again, even after mass extinctions.
You might have said it makes no sense and I am sorry if I implied that you didn't. I'm not sure how much I heard vs. how much I missed of what you're saying, so it's entirely possible you said many things I missed - I have issues with understanding everything I hear, especially without subtitles and with distractability thrown into the mix.
