So many aspects of life from math to empathy require imagination.

Even a word on a page like the word steak or vanilla ice cream involves the imagination to convert the word into a mental image in the brain/mind/head.

Your insights?

I feel like I do, even though most of my imagination involves things I've seen in videogames, television, and books than purely mental constructs.

I remember when I was a child a good portion of my pretend playing involved making documentaries, as I was watching Wild Discovery before I entered kindergarten.

What does Constructional Apraxia have to do with imagination or autism?

My imaginations as a child was focused around dealing with reality. My play was wandering around exploring, or building things to play with.

Some autistic people do have traits similar to apraxia, but I'm confused by this post too.

I know this is a year old, but there's one thing I don't understand about imagination, which is uncontrolled imagination, where you imagine things you don't want and is making you anxious. I keep thinking everybody in public are looking at me and judging me constantly - when probably nobody's even noticed me (since I don't stim or do anything else what gets people's attention), and other people tell me that I'm imagining it.

Does that count as imagination?
