Interesting WSJ article on empathy neurons

I think it is especially interesting that the "mirror neurons" are in the motor cortex. Perhaps a problem there could explain why many aspies have motor and empathy problems....
That is a very interesting idea, that both clumsiness and mirror neurons could be related.
I did a very extensive and accurate test of my social skills recently, I was told that I am poor at recognizing facial expressions and body posture. However, my ability to recognize tone of voice is normal. This would be explained by a lack of mirror neurons that otherwise should respond to visual clues, whereas understanding a persons vocal tone does not use mirror neurons.
I explained in another tread, that I have had some of the best conversations with people over the phone, rather then face to face. This occurred with my ex-GF who I often talked to on the phone. When we met up we never had a fluid conversation, and I occasionally misunderstood her facial expressions; one time I thought she was very sad and I apologized for upsetting her, she didn't know what I was on about. It all make sence now. Also, I know several alleged Aspies who preferred to interact with people via phone, rather then face to face - Stanly Kubrick, Glen Gould and Andy Warhol.
Another strange affect, when I watch formula one racing, when they show pictures from the point of view of the driver, I can feel the string wheel in my hand. But if I see someone throw a ball or what ever, I don't feel anything (I guess I should if I were NT, just like F-1). Electively, I can empathize with a bloody steering wheel, which is no help to me
