Ever since my newest obsession, Sonic the hedgehog, I've been facinated by kitsunes. His little fox friend I suspect is a kitsune. The Japanese have their own version of the western werewolf called kitsunetsuki. Although it is simalair, it is diffrent than Clinical lycanthropy. Symptoms include cravings for rice or sweet red beans, listlessness, restlessness, and aversion to eye contact. I could have sworn I saw Tails listed in one of the umteen threads about cartoon characters thay may have AS. He just screams aspie to me. Anyway, don't take this thread seriously. It's meant as a joke but than compared to some of the autism theories out there it makes some sence. Darn! I was convinced I was a meerkat, but aparently I am a kitsune.

"Kitsunes" is not the plural form.

Yes you did spell that wrong too.
His real name is Miles Power. Tails is just his nickname. :P

I know. I just didn't think most people did. This thread isn't supposed to be about him or spelling. I think I know you from DA.

I have a hard time knowing when other people are joking...espicaly when it is all in text but I highly highly suspect I am not the only one here on DA that does. I'm Phoenix-Kat on DA.

Off topic i think but I'd recommend watching kanon (2006 version). Very kitsune relevant and AS traits.

Saying that you like Japanese foxes would probably be the equivalent as saying you like kitsune and would be less confusing to people. There is no plural to Japanese words, typically. Kitsune is just kitsune, and it can refer to one fox or more than one.

I know this because the Japanese language used to be my obsession... I essentially learned the language so that I'd be able to watch anime and play video games in Japanese.

Kitsune if I remember are shape-shifters and people with AS or like me at least have some mental differences often have to pretend to be like everyone else.

And welcome to the obsession! Though sadly in my case it's waning a bit. Now I spend more time on birds and mental health.

What happened was that Tails the Fox was going to be his original name, but the programmer of the game (I forget his name) wanted it to be Miles Prower (a joke on "miles per hour") and so he put the name "Miles" in the game Sonic 2, especially in the casino level and it was too late to change it, so now he's Mlles "Tails" Prower.

In a fanfiction I wrote in the past, one of the main characters was a female anthro fox who was born a kitsune and all her tails but one were cut off when she was born and she was determined to get back at the world.

I used to have a huge obsession with Sonic when I was younger, it isn't my main focus any more, but it's interesting to see other people have had or have the same obsession.

I'd like to read that fan fic. I'm working on one that combines my Sonic obsession and my hallow earth theory obsession.
