Interpret this please

Could someone tell me what they interpret this conversation as please? Its text messages sent back and forth.

Me: Have you ordered any reading material?

Him: I ordered the last book from my series(Jim butcher books) and have been reading it. Also the Attwood book.

He's reading Jim Butcher book and one of Attwood's books?

Regarding the latter sentence? I believe that this person is implying that they have ordered the book in this sentence.

ok thankyou, its just been difficult trying to communicate with someone. They told me that they meant "they ordered the jim butcher book, but WANTS to order the attwood book. I told him it sounded like he ordered both those books already. Its a constant struggle when I read something so easy and plain to read, yet the person tells me it didnt mean that. Like im supposed to read their mind. Its like he leaves out parts of the sentence I guess

That sentence was poorly structured and even someone who interprets text typically would have struggled with that sentence.
