People with Tourettes Syndrome generally have both physical and verbal tics, which they do frequently and involuntarily. If you're consciously doing it, it's probably related to Aspergers, where tics are a symptom but a minor one and rarely as severe as those in Tourettes.

I repeat sounds over and over like you describe and I say some words and phrases without having control over it. I have recently started making spitting noises which is particularly embarrassing and difficult because my fiancé tells me to stop and doesn't accept that I can't control it. I also have some physical tics but I'm not sure if I have tourette's or not. I haven't sought a diagnosis.

You might have a few tics, but it's unlikely that it is Tourettes syndrome. Even at my mildest I usually have 10 or more different tics going off all day!

Heh, yeah, there have to be a lot of tics before you get a Tourette's diagnosis. But of course since Tourette's is simply "you have a lot of tics", it's not like a person who's just got one can't have one that's just exactly like one that someone with Tourette's has.
