I've read somewhere that some aspies relate to another time/decade in history, and feel more close to that time than today's time. So are you one of those people?

I think some people here on this site certainly are. For example CockneyRebel is obsessed over the 60s and its culture.

I do relate to other time periods - I like the 60s in Los Angeles. Especially the music - I think that without games, music would have been my primary interest.

Plus, the economy was so much stronger then.

Sometimes I wished I was born in the past back when school work was more concrete. Education was different then so maybe I would have survived better in school. Plus the economy didn't suck and gas was a lot cheaper then. But then I wonder how I would have turned out back then since there was no internet then so there be no way I would have learned things like social skills and TOM. Maybe I would be reading psychology books instead or something from the library. I'd just be doing things the old fashioned way.

I wouldn't mind trying the next century. After all, if I'd lived in the last one, the diabetes would have killed me and until then the autism would have made me miserable. As it is, insulin keeps me alive and the autism makes me miserable. Next one up might be a winner.

Definitely. I live in the future, where AS is understood from birth, and where current political and economic problems have been solved. I spent decades working out how it would work, so I now feel very comfortable there. I find it hard to accept that other people are happy in the present with all its madness and pain.

Sure. I don't think this is unique to just us since, for the most part, the present kinda sucks and the immediate future looks kinda bleak.

I don't know...I guess it's kind of hard to imagine living in any time really, apart from now. Maybe I'd go back in time, right back to when there weren't really major cities and we lived in tribes. Or maybe I'd go to the future to see what it holds. Or live somewhere in the countryside years ago. I suppose it really depends what kind of person you are and what kind of people you would find yourself surrounded with. There are always horrible things happening whatever time you're living in.

I would have loved to have been born as a male in London in the mid 40s so that I would have been able to enjoy the 60s to the fullest.

I would have liked to have been a victorian gentleman of independent means, so I could do pretty much what I liked and spend as much time as I wanted pursuing scientific interests.

I wish I was born 10-20 years earlier, personally.

I wish I had been born in the early 50s (maybe 1953), allowing me to enjoy the 60s (specifically The Beatles) as a teenager with my friends, take part in political activism, and essentially grow up as music grew up. I'd also be young enough to enjoy today's technology.

I wish i was born in the 19th century or 16th century. If in this century then the 1920's.

Definitely. My husband lives his life by the thoughts, rituals and beliefs of those from 40+ years ago. He finds the pressures and expectations of todays society way too much and too difficult to understand. As a result he is not doing well with employment. Too many expectations which he does not have the ability or motivation to live up too. he will happily work hard (physically) but nowadays you almost need a degree to make coffee.
My husband is obsessed with pre-1980's films. he will watch them over and over again and aspires to the characters of these era's.

Now is the moment.

The past was a brutal and unforgiving place; short lives of endless toil for a meagre existence.

The future looks bleak, with population growth likely to cause conflict and misery for the human race.

I was coming into this thread knowing you were going to say that! :)

I think I like living right now. The world is changing so quickly that it's fascinating to watch. It's an amazing time to be alive, really.
