Hi everyone, I was curious if any of you have read through or have heard of any cogent, comprehensive, insightful books on or including large chunks of information on adhd-pi or sluggish cognitive tempo. I have aspergers, but also estimate that I have these conditions as well, which are imho a much bigger issue than conventional aspergers alone.

I’m getting my deviated septum surgically corrected soon and will have a lot of time to read. Cheers.

first the more important thing- your septoplasty surgery, which for the most part includes a nasty nasal packing of petrolatum-soaked gauze tape up your nose for up to 5 days, which makes you an exclusive mouth-breather for that time, but according to this blog-

you can ask your doctor to avoid the packing or to use a new-and-improved packing that includes nasal breathing tubes, so you can breathe through your nose immediately after surgery.

now with that out of the way, this WP page has some useful info and references-

I'm PI & SCT. I have not found anything but anecdotal or web page info on this. It's a nasty combo.

Everything qouted in linked WP page is exactly how it is. Everything I've seen posted on ADD forums about it is "Gawd awful," in some form.

I do not know how anyone could survive this by adding in autism or having autism with this.

I seem to have some symptoms. My dopamine system is definitely not right.

I think there isn't enough about this yet to be officially published. It's a subset of a subset of ADHD, and the numbers overall appear to be small.

I've seen a few references in one research paper on PI.

There was something about this in a ADD forum as the discussion centered on making a sub- forum for SCT, because it is very different from the others. Much like the recent discussion here on making a subforum for those with more severe autism.
