What is 'brushing' in reference to autism/sensory disorders?

I've heard the term before but what does it mean?

It refers to literally brushing the skin with a plastic surgical brush. It's part of something called the Wilbarger Protocol.

Me too. I hated it and it actualy made me MORE sensetive and agressive. I like to stratch my back with knives. My mom had to stratch my back with her nails but the stupid OT was against this. The brush she wanted my mom to use was too soft and made me have meltdowns. I want my sharp sensations.
