Aspie people person
Il explain! Officially, I dont have a definate yes or no for aspergers, my College have just been told I have traits of it. Id also consider myself to be a people person as in... I have that sort of drive to be around people and that sort of love for people but I dont necessarily have the skills that usually come with it! Even when I need to be alone(I still need 'downtime' after socialising but when it has gone really well it is sort of energizing...if you get me) id still ultimately prefer to have people around but Il go be alone anyway(not hard...it tends to happen that way anyway!). Im still irritated by the 'loudness' of some people but im patient, I still wouldnt follow a converstion very well if theres too much going on around me (backround noise, vibrations from loud noise, etc), most of my conversations still end with 'hi' unless the conditions are just right (if theres too much going on I can even forget to say things like 'thank you' and itl just come to me afterwards). I have all the patience in the world for kids, like id expect them to be loud and hyper and whatever else at least some of the time and I dont mind letting them tire me out. I used to be told I was a good listener but this was from people whose friendships with me were 'set up' when we were little so we just grew up with eachother and as soon as they graduated from college that was more or less the end of it. I am affected by it when bad things happen to people but wouldnt necessarily know how to respond. Im not a shy person (although people assumed when I was growing up that what has now been labeled 'aspie traits' was just shyness...) but id be shy about volunteering unless I had a friend to do it with me... I dont have anyone close enough in my life right now though!
Anyway, thats the short version... its late.
Does this make sense, people person with aspie traits? It probably depends on how you would define a people person too right? I hope its not too difficult to read with the amount of random bits in brackets!
Are you asking if AS is compatible with extroversion?
If so, yes. Social skills =/= social inclination.
