I don't know the regulations in other countries, so this may only be valid for my country.

I have been diagnosed recently. As expected. However, I could have saved myself the trouble. There is no consideration for my situation whatsoever. I cannot believe it.

First of all, to make my diagnosis official, I would have to get a second diagnosis which would cost me at least 600 Euros. If I did that, my current employer can fire me, just like that. And to make matters worse: I would be legally obliged to state my diagnosis at any future job interview. Really great, given the NT's typical reaction to mental problems.

The only thing they were able to offer me was to treat my depressions or aggressions if I had any. Well, I don't, it took me long enough to get rid of them (which I did without any help) but maybe I should consider developing some new aggressions now.

The only medication that helps me is illegal here, there is no way to get it legally. And while the law states some things quite unambiguously, the administration (I should say regime, since it ignores it's own law) doesn't give a (you-know-what) about that and prosecutes "us" (those who self-medicate, guess with what) mercilessly. Regardless of scientific facts. My driving license (which I need for my job) could be revoked just like that, they don't even need to prove that I was driving under influence and even if I could prove the opposite, it wouldn't change a thing.

My motivation for being a productive, righteous and honest member of this alcohol- and greed-controlled society just approached zero again. If I had the red button as in the poll question, I think I would press it. And I think I would even be doing something good.

I have no right to impose my judgment on the rest of the world. Pushing the button would in fact make me worse than those whom I've judged

As much as I despise many other things about the US, currently I wish I were born there.
Unfortunately, this is really true.

About the red button: don't take me too seriously, this is just an indicator of how fed up I am with this society. I did so many things for others, I am so generous and so considerate, I wouldn't even punish a criminal for his actions, no matter what. But they just cr*p on me at every opportunity.

Actually, if I had a place on Antarctica with a little reactor to produce electricity and heat and a big greenhouse, and everybody else would just leave me alone, I would be just fine.

1) Don't get diagnosed.
2) Emigrate.

I agree with the others: emigrate.

I think about emigrating a lot. But I have built up an existence here, my family lives here, my partner is in a very good job and I know my way around in the local mountains. Not to forget my very few friends. And I managed to get kicked out of the militia, finally.

Also, I can live with not having any consideration for my situation, I am used to it.

If I somehow manage to get rid of the regime elements prosecuting me for my self medication, I might just stay. It really is a beautiful country.

But there are people who are weaker than I am. Why do those self-righteous f*ers have to make their lives even harder? It is a little like the 3rd Reich. Of course nobody is gassed, they "just" prosecute them and the torture is "merely" psychic. But in a thousand years from now people will hopefully see that it is not that much better. In the end they manage to destroy their lives just as well.

@NUJV England is too flat and rainy for me. Don't get me wrong, I think it is nice, too. But I am a climber and mountaineer, I really need some mountains >4000 meters. Everything below 2000 I consider hills.

@ASdogGeek What I despise about the US? Bill Maher sums it up nicely. for example the bible belt, the tea party, the political system (military-industrial-complex) and the arrogance of the political class. Of course the European union tries its best to be just like their big brother, but at least we are a few years behind in this frightening development.
