When i was thirteen years old i tried various medications under the supervision of a professional. I tried Ritalin, Aderall, and various othert SSRI's. Unfortunately it took quite a while to find a medicine that helped my anxiety. It wasn't until recently i have been diagnosed with Asperger's so at the time that was irrelevant. After disappointments and many anxious days a medicine was finally found. Zoloft was the first medicine i had that worked perfectly for me. When i started taking Zoloft i began at 50 mg. Today i remain on Zoloft but am at 150 mg. Luckily for me i am doing much better than i was as a teenager. Now that i have everything i need and many resources i only can see a brighter future. When i was thirteen resources for mental health were limited but in 2011 with the Internet and support sites it has helped me to develop into a less anxious person and enjoy life more.

But it does not work for me. :P

It only aggravates things and takes away my ability to think. And, dear God, what it does to my teeth.

I am outright against taking medication for anxiety. Especially SSRIs. I would take SSRIs for the all the money in the world. And I mean that! However, I don't really care if other people take medication for anxiety or not, so you make your own choice, I'm just against it for myself. It kind of seems like you are pushing it on me though.

I`m glad it works for u but it did NOT work for me! I only take Xanax when I need it and that helps, but I don`t take daily meds anymore!

I've been on meds for a while, and I've finally been having them lowered (W/ Doctors Advice)

From being on them for years and now lowering, I have come out of the haze and realized the true potential of my mind and am back to thinking like an Exascale Supercomputer

I stim slightly more now but my happiness and increased ability make up for it :D

SSRI's decreased my anxiety and depression but then stopped working and I got worse sensory issues. It all sort of happened at once. The meds felt like they weren't working anymore, I started to become more anxious and going to the same gig two nights in a row being exposed to strobe lights made me have the meltdown to end all meltdowns. And I got backstage. But it really wasn't as cool as it sounds. A few days later I got to meet the band and tell them what happened.

I'll probably have to be on ADHD medication for a long time because I'm just a mess without it. I prefer to be on meds that stimulate my brain rather then slow it down.

I still have some anxiety but can manage through CBT.

I tried anti-depressants, my first and last willing experiance with depression or even anxiety meds...I really hope I never have such things forced on me because that was horrible and I don't want to go through it again.
