Hi, it's been a while since I last posted - glad to be back! Ok, my stims include:

- Rolling little balled-up pieces of paper under my fingernails
- Rocking back and forth
- Wiggling fingers
- Jiggling legs
- Finger in belly-button
- Cracking fingers

I have enormous difficulty staying on tasks I don't want to do. Well, who doesn't?! The thing is, whenever I start trying to do a really important task like job hunting (I'm currently unemployed), ALL my stims kick in at once - or rather all the urges kick in at unbearable intensity, all in one go, leaving me with no free hands or free brain!! ! And when I force myself to stop the stims and sit still, my mind goes utterly blank to the point of catatonia, and quite literally will not process any information/send any messages. Stupid brain! Anyone have any tips to stop the stimming long enough for me to concentrate? I'm resorting to going out for a walk round the block to see if that helps - sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't. Would love some advice! Thanks.

Try doing something with your hands whenever they're empty. Doing that just before an important task helps me concentrate on the task, because my stimming will be ushered away.

I suppose I have an eye-twitch stim (left to right like I'm reading) that I use when my hands are busy and I'm thinking. I also have a weird foot thing that I do...

If you sit there for long enough trying to think with your eyes and hands full, you might just devolip a new stim that doesn't involve either...
