I am going to do an informational interview.
My main point is to find out how well the profession (investment research) fits with having AS.

Can any of recommend any specific questions or words I can use to get at the point, appropriately?
Or what YOU would ask?
Thanks.

These don't relate specifically to AS, but the standard info interview questions are:

How did you get your start in this field?
What do you enjoy most about your job?
What do you enjoy least about your job?
Who are 3 people you'd suggest I talk to about this field?

Comes from this book, The PIE Method.

Anyway I can ask if an AS would do well?

Specifically:
-Structure
-Concreate task oriented

Well, many people wouldn't know what AS is, and those who do wouldn't know exactly how AS affects you.

So good questions might be:
"How much work will I be doing with other people, versus alone?"
"What's an average day like?"
"What's the work environment like?"
"Do you work with customers/clients a lot?"
"How much flexibility do you get in when and how you'll do your work, provided you meet the deadlines?"

are there lots of interruptions e.g. phone, busy environment with colleagues constantly interrupting or noisy crowded area, fluorescent lights? (depending on any sensitivities)
how much opportunity is there for initiative/creativity-are you expected to just follow direction, do you need to be a self starter?
will you be expected to do overtime or travel at short notice or adjust your work day based on the workload?
Would you need to supervise/train people?
Is training and your day structured (e.g. predictable what happens when, or dictated by manager or client) or left to you to sort out yourself? Is it the same everyday or variable?

I'm not sure how to word these as slightly strange things to ask but an area of conflict for me
are you expected to take over a colleagues role or things outside your normal job description if someone is off sick?
how is work shared across the team is it clear what each person is doing individually?
