I am attending 'Social Communication Classes' at this clinic called Social Thinking- They are AWESOME and their therapists really "get it" when it comes to our challenges. Best of all, they understood my financial situation and offered me a scholarship to attend for almost free. I highly recommend them to any Aspie who wants to improve their social communication skills- they have classes for all ages from playgroups for preschoolers to school age groups to teen groups to adult groups.

Even if you don't live near them, I highly recommend their products- their books are full of practical tips, advice, and strategies for dealing with AS and social challenges. There are age appropriate books for all ages from "Social Detective Picture Books" for young kids to "Social Thinking In the Work World" for adults and everything in between.

They are not "magic" and no, they won't cure AS but I feel that they are the best resource around for learning coping strategies.

In a related note, you (and others) might find the book "Peoplewatching" by Desmond Morris to be helpful. I pretty sure it's the same book I borrowed from the library a couple of years back. The author goes into a lot of detail about the meaning of specific body language and gestures, and it's like 500 pages of info. Here's a link to the book on amazon: book link
