I've always known I'm clumsy. I couldn't master the balance beam when my mother sent me to gymnastics, and I'm always finding small bruises from bumping into furniture without even noticing. But I don't understand why it's so difficult for me to balance a cup of coffee in my hand(s). I never drink a cup of coffee without spilling some of it. Glasses seem less treacherous for some reason. Anyone else find mugs incredibly challenging?

Can you do gun-slinging with a coffee mug like Doc Holliday

I bet could do that too, but I would probably break all my mugs practicing within 5 minutes. :P

I also run into furniture a lot, but I don't have trouble drinking from mugs.
I set them down when I'm not drinking so I don't get distracted and spill.

Carrying cups and mugs is what I am absolutely worst at. I can't drink from a cup with a lid on it while walking... I've had people tell me that they didn't realize it was possible to spill things from a cup with a lid on it such that it was on your nose. Simply carrying the cup of tea with the lid on it I manage to spill even when its under halfway full sometimes. I've definitely spilled a mug that was less than 1/8th full, by not having realized how fast I was moving.

My boyfriend is addicted to coffee. He prefers coffee when I make it (he thinks its that I'm more consistent about things like how much coffee goes in and how finely its ground and such). However, his coffee mug is the absolute worst mug I've had for spilling things with. I can't carry it across a room, while concentrating on not spilling it, and have any luck. I've gotten to making coffee and then making him go pick it up himself, because I've spilled coffee on things hard to clean it off of too many times.

Mugs are in fact, incredibly challenging. I'm fine on a balance beam, but I can't carry a mug of coffee even a few feet without spilling it.

I've always known there was one job I could never do -- waitressing.

Yes, where did that new bruise come from?

I've actually fallen off the floor.

Doc Holliday is so cool. I actually met Val Kilmer once but I didn't recognize him and I didn't know his name, and his hint was "I'm batman" which meant nothing to me. Still kicking myself to this day.

Glad it's not just me with the total inability to keep my coffee in the cup! So frustrating, so silly. For some reason I have a lot less trouble with tea.

Yes. With every single mug of hot chocolate / hot water / hot juice, I will always, always end up spilling it over myself.
