Another idea for causation is a damaged histamine system in early age affecting the regulation of nor-epinephrine and causing an arousal of neural activity as we grow older.

Amoxicillin didn't exist when I was a child so it didn't cause my autism.

My son had amoxicillin as a baby, toddler, child, couple of months ago. No allergic reaction, and make no difference to him apart from the intended effect.

No. Not until I see a scientifically valid peer reviewed experimental study to support such a link. I will not contribute to another unfounded "cause" theory feeding paranoia and leading to people not getting antibiotics who need them.

I am allergic to amoxocillin. I was autistic far earlier than having amoxocillin - it didn't suddenly cause my autism. I definitely showed traits before ever having an allergic reaction to medication.

Amoxocillian and other 'cillian' allergies are fairly common. I've never heard of a more/less association with autism. It is fairly common for those on the spectrum to have impaired/altered/unexpected reactions and sensitivites to medications but not outright allergies. That just might be a family genetic gift.

I was prone to ear infections as a kid so I took that all the time. Never had a bad reaction to it though.

As it stands right now amoxicillian and it's derivatives are the only antibiotics I can take so hopefully I never become allergic to them otherwise I'm screwed!

This is interesting, I don't think I'm allergic to it, but it made me feel violently ill when I was prescribed it for an infection a few years ago. I always kind of wondered why it made me feel so awful, and the doctor didn't really get it either.

There may be heightened sensitivity to certain compounds, but how exactly do you account for autism before the "invention" of penicillin in 1928?

I was just looking at a correlation between any histamine induced reactions as young children. Amoxcicillin seems to have a lot so I was looking at that as a way to get some data. I am in no way against the use of those medications and I already said the vaccination theory is unfounded.
