In the last week I went from seeing no aspies in books, movies,tv,news and so on to.......

Aspies on robot chicken (strawberry shortcake calling B-pudding one after B-pudding broke into her house for no reason and was a B-)

In alphas (I am behind on that news)

covert affairs.

necessary roughness (only notcied when he was about to kill him self)

a webcomic(lost the name, aspie was used to insuit someone that could nopt write spell but loved to read)

at work someone said "Professor Farnsworth from Futurama has the ass brain stuff, thats why he is dumb enough to always be nude! doe snot know better..."(I asked that person to leave the store)

and now ready player one( so far the best none about aspie aspie metion)

How do you feel about so much Aspieness? is it good its being let out or is it being used as an scapegoat for anyone that is a little out of the nrom?

The media does not portray reality and their embellishments only serve to slander those with AS.

When it comes to AS in the media, nothing really positive is said about Aspies. It's always, "problem this, problem that". To me, it seems like the media portrays Aspies as people who need to be taken care of by taxpayers, because they flap their arms and cover their ears and throw tantrums and scream most of the day. However, at least people with AS are able to communicate verbally. And who does the media interview in order to "teach" the public about Asperger Syndrome? Members from groups like Autism Speaks! Then comes all the negative propaganda: viewers get told that ASD's (Asperger's included) stem from things like getting children vaccinated, or ingesting gluten and casein, or... the list goes on.

From what I've heard (from reliable sources) is that Alphas actually does a really good job in portraying someone positive with AS.

Other than that I have no idea.

If they're portraying it accurately its a good thing. If they're not, its not.

I don't like it when NT authors write novels from the perspectives of autistic characters.
