Has anyone else had to put up with this as a child???
My score on an intelligence test qualified me to skip a grade in school, but I wasn't allowed because the school authorities thought I'd have too much trouble with it due to my hearing difficulties. Looking back, I wonder if that was not actually an excuse and they really thought I looked too dim to handle it. I mean, I was wearing hearing aids, and if I was so smart, then there nothing that would have stopped me from doing well.
I hate it when people have no confidence in my abilities. It both insults me and reduces my own confidence.
