Happy to see I'm not crazy - http://theunnam3df33ling.blogspot.com/2 ... in-my.html

But I was wondering if anybody else had also gained conscious control of it, and can command it to happen at will. I have, as well as a few other sensations. If most of my weirdness is autism, it follows that some of my otherwise uncharted traits or abilities may well be on the spectrum. How about you? Can you make your skin just tingle all over, make waves of sensation roll down yourself, or make your ears rumble without even yawning? Who else has mastered their bodies? I can even consciously flex my large intestine and produce a BM. Speed up my heart AND slow it down. I know I'm not the only one! What autonomic reflexes or actions have you overridden and make conscious? Almost forgot, I can dump adrenaline into my system any moment - but it gives me zits so I don't like doing it unless there's a good reason. There's plenty more - I an dilate my pupils, the list goes on. But what about you? Have you mastered your body? And how?

I've always been able to do that; I assumed everyone can do it?

And that's another barrier, here. You've taken it for granted. Most people look at me like I'm insane when I ask if they can do it. I'm sure there are even more than we can mention! I just wondered if these inward devices were more common among aspie-kind than among the NT crowd. NT's might even pretend they can't do it, just so they seem normal.

Maybe it's the same that happens with sound. Just like I can't ignore cars, airplanes and tvs during a conversation, I can't ignore my skin or the muscles I use.
I'm aware of pretty much my whole body. And that's the reason I don't like wind most of the time. It can be overwhelming for me.

i'm not that good, but i can make my ears rumble/pop indeed, which i thought was normal until recently; when i brought it up as a method of blocking out the worst of a lot of conversations or other sounds.
also, i have concious control over my eye focus; if i need a little rest, sensory-wise, i unfocus my eyes so i dont see anything. if i actually close them, my hearing gets better, still giving me no rest; going out of focus doesn't imrove hearing (unless i want it to).

those are the main two subconcious effects i have mastered; aside from the apperant ability to choose whether alcohol and cafeine effect me or not, and on the other end of that skill, fake their effects to a masterywven at the same time.
if, for some reason, i want to appear drunk while drinking lots of alcohol, but not lose control, i can; i choose to not be affected by alcohol, and then fake the effects of intoxication (it is a double spender, but a good one at times; as it saves me from strange looks and hangovers at the same time)

If anything, I am more unaware and out of control with my body than most people. Then again, I also have mild, ataxic cerebral palsy, too.

Doesn't everybody have concious control over eye focus? It would be a nightmare if I couldn't unfocus my eyes at will.

That's what I figured. Why wouldn't they? I always have.
