I am not sure if I have AS but I think if I do it is mild. I am 20 years old and ever since I was a kid I would get obsessions with movies or tv shows and talk about them and think about them nonstop. In 5th grade it was so bad I got two friends to pretend they were the other characters on the show. We would do this at school and anytime I was with them. I acted out scenes, bought all the merchandise. Needless to say I was made fun of for this obsession the rest if my time in school. My obsession was a Disney Channel show and a crush on the main girl character. That was the worst of it and lasted around 2 years. I now have obsessions with Earthquakes and Forensics

if it feels right for you, there's a lot to know and understand.

I still don't quite understand the spectrum, I know it's very diverse!

If you have access, with insurance, for an assessment then go to a psychometrist ASAP, many people with AS have other conditions, like Bi-polar, ADHD, OCD, depression, SAD...etc. DSM-IV)

The main stress in 'Psychology' - study of the mind, is....

"Psychology is theoretically diverse" and Neuroscience can get both, very specific and awkwardly confusing.

We're all best friends here anyway! welcome.

As a teenager I was really obsessed with cartoons on TV the movies, comic books, and drawing them myself. I used to talk about them all the time and daydream all the time about them and about becoming a successful cartoonist or animator. I was always in trouble at school because I would daydream or draw cartoons in class and I sucked at most school subjects and was even flunking out of ones I should have been good at (English, Science) and kids would bully me because it was all I seemed to care about and my mother wished I would become interested in "normal" teenage girl things (which I hated) So yes, it may very well be a trait of Asperger's because I have it but no one even knew anything about it back then. :(

If that is the only trait you have, then you don't have it and it could just be OCD.

Yes this is an AS trait, but this doesnt mean you have AS by a long shot since AS is a social skills condition, there are people who have ASD's who don't have obsessions.

If I get really obsessed with a show sometimes i'll become one of the characters without realizing it and start talking/behaving like them.
This means sometimes I have to quit watching shows because I start to lose myself.
