Do you have diagnoses/misdagnosis of another condition? I was diagnosed/misdiagnosed with ADHD and ultra rapid cycling Bipolar before being diagnosed with aspergers what about you?

ADD, autism perhaps. Turned out in the future I am on the spectrum.

Where is the option for "no?" The diagnosis list from my doctor reads:
1.)Asperger's Syndrome
2.)Intellectually gifted
3.)Sensory Integration Disorder

None of these are misdiagnoses, though I'm surprised that (2) is now apparently a diagnosable condition. When I was in middle school, this same doctor withheld a diagnosis of ADD on the basis that he didn't think I would benefit from medication for it, even though I do meet all the criteria for ADHD-PI.

I was initially diagnosed with PDD-NOS before being diagnosed with AS.

Autism when I was two or three but that may have been half right because AS is autism and it was the 80's then and the doctors may have been picking up on my AS.

ADD when I was ten. Though I do have it but it was a misdiagnoses because it wasn't the correct one for that was what was wrong with me. It only explained some of my issues, not the rest.

I've been diagnosed with Bipolar I, but I don't believe that's a misdiagnosis. It presented pretty classically. I believe I have comorbid ASD and Bipolar.

I believe I was diagnosed with ADD shortly after I was diagnosed with Asperger's. I don't think it's a misdiagnosis, either.

My AS/ADHD was never picked up by maybe a dozen therapists and counsellors...... even a psychiatrist and a psychologist never picked it up. I dated a counsellor at one stage......

Misdiagnosis from hell for me......

I score VERY high on ADD/ADHD self assessments and high on dyslexia. Probably going to bring it up with the psychologist that DXd my ASD.

I guess I was misdiagnosed with AS, depending on how you look at it. I believe that some part of myself will always be on the spectrum, though.

This misdiagnosis caused me significant stress, which lessened upon finding out the truth about myself from my current and past long-term therapists - that I am an anxious and highly sensitive person but do not have an autism spectrum disorder.

My diagnoses - social anxiety disorder and obsessive-compulsive disorder.

I’m no longer involved with the ASD world.
