I 've always had extreme difficulties with math, and I was wondering if this is common/uncommon to people with Asperger's.

I looked around and couldn't find a poll about this, so I'm sorry if I'm beating a dead horse, so to speak.

I SUCK at math. I also find it impossible to understand, unless it is Statistics or Geometry. I was the person in math class always asking, "Why?" to all the formulas and rules and exceptions. My math teachers hated me, LOL. I took Algebra 2x in HS to pass, 3x in college. And that was to just pass- I didn't get a good grade. Also, I am very good at science in the lab doing experiments, but when it comes to learning the theory ...well had to take that 3x (even though I passed the lab course section the 1st time).

My best subjects were English and History...basically anything Humanities related.

I don't like math very much, but I was still top of the class in every math course I took, So I voted better than average. Never got anything less than A, except the once I missed the final exam of a calculus course in university. My Aspie brother was much better and always beats me in math games.

Bit of a difficult question to answer.
My maths is better than most peoples' so above average in that sense, but a diagnostic IQ test has shown that maths is my weakest aspect (except for working memory). So maths is below MY own personal average ability.

I hate maths and it's boring. My mathematical abilities are much lower than they were, but are still much higher than average.

I don't exactly comprehend it. This may be part of being dyslexic. I was fine until algebra but then I just got confused to the point of freaking out. Nothing made any sense whatsoever. English and Philosophy on the otherhand... or even some Metaphysics... but just not math.

Math is beautiful. I'm not any expert or sth, but I never had problems with Math. I learn it very easy.

I think I'm better than average people I can meet in bus or shop. They often have problems with percents, sequences or proportions. They can't read charts, tables and graphs. Logic is Mission Impossible for many of them.
Ofc I mean AVERAGE. There are many people who are great in Math like fish in the water.

My favourite parts are ofc Logic, Geometry, Statistics, Game Theory. These so realistic things I can say they exist :D

For a good student I suck compared to other good students in school. After months I get an A/B in finals but being from a competitice background makes me consider that bad. So am I average or below average?

I said below average but I think that may be overrating my skills a little.

High school math was terrible. But strangely enough, conceptually I am much, much better than that.
I actually discussed general relativity with a classmate in third grade and I derived a formula for escape velocity needed to escape a gravitational body by rewriting the formula for gravity.

Perhaps my problem was being unable to comprehend complicated written formulae. (The above exercise is not so complicated in that respect)

I'm terrible with math. Always have been.
Well, that's not true. I'm great at algebra, but once I get anything higher than pre-calc I'm a fish out of water. I just don't process numbers very well. Numbers to me are like letters, so they don't have the same meaning as they seem to for most other people...

Sucks, because I really want to go into a science career, and everyone tells me that you can't be a scientist unless you're great at math.

Math is easy for me. I've always liked it. Discreet Math and non-Euclidean geometry were my favorites. I remember the day our professor showed us the proof for different sizes of infinity. We all walked out looking like our foundations had been shaken. It was great. :)

Maths was always my worst subject. I never asked questions, rather just winged it and ended up with the wrong answer. The teacher would spend hours with me and I could see he was getting frustrated so I said 'oh yeah, I get it now.'
In homeschool my speed addition and multiplication and long division was pretty good. I've totally forgot how to do it though.
Math never stays in my memory. I don't find it interesting at all. I've even tried to re-learn it but it never sticks.

I'm weird with maths. I'm struggling (though improving) with the basic GCSE stuff I'm doing now in the bottom class, yet for fun I research the stock market, which is a very mathematical thing, and I have very little problem with it, despite it being something usually taught second year A Level economics, a subject you need a B in maths to even get into! I also like programming too, which is also mathematical. It makes sense I'm good at those things since they're so logical, but it's weird I'm so bad at normal maths yet fine at things usually considered more complex!

I'm not very good at math, but I'm not hopeless either. Where I come from, that makes me average, which is sad when you think about it.

I've always been more of a person of knowledge and language (as opposed to a mental processing task), so I do great in things like History, Geography and English. I'm above average on the sciences, except when the more complicated formulae get involved.

I do not know what the average mathematical skill is.
But I know many people do not enjoy mathematics.
Which I do not understand.
I joined a club (online) for people who enjoy mathematics and it gets spammed with posts that either directly or indirectly call us nerds or other kinds of odd persons.
I think they are odd.
Because mathematics is the most useful subject anyone could learn because it is used in so many different fields.

I only got to basic algebra. After that, I couldn't understand math at all, especially geometry. The most math I can do is find the value of x, by getting it with an equal sign, I can't remember what it's called. Like to find a dosage for a medication.
