That's neat. I read Look Me In the Eye a month or two ago and enjoyed it.

I thought "Look me in the eye" to be a very dull book and I also got no sense of how he had found having AS had been a disadvantage or struggle in his life.

To me, while Look Me In The Eye wasn't the most exciting reading of all, it's neatly written and offers some insight with which I can relate fairly well. I have the second book too, Be Different, I'm halfway through with it, and put it aside only because I've got another book, To Kill A Mockingbird (by Harper Lee) that I've almost finished now.

There's a book I'd recommend for reading, The Unwritten Rules Of Social Relationships by Temple Grandin and Sean Barron. It was exciting how well I can relate to Sean, although I think my symptoms were milder than his. A great many useful advices. Uncovers lots of misbelieves on our parts.

I was unaware that he was from Massachusetts. That makes me so much more likely to buy his books, because the idea of being able to relate to the places in one of the aspie books that I'm reading sounds nice. (Central Mass person who would head out to Western Mass on a non-irregular basis while growing up here)

I've always thought that the cover of Look Me In The Eye would be better if the kid were also plugging his ears.

I have his book and thought it was amazing how he made it through life as an aspie and was able to succeed. I don't know how I would have made it through life without help. I also thought he was pretty textbook also. It was his special interests that got him jobs and made him be successful in life.

I also saw him here in Portland three years ago at Powells Books when he talked about his book. I also have his Be Different book.
