I have recently been diagnosed as Aspergers, and my cousin has been diagnosed as really high functioning autism. She was told she defenatly isnt aspergers. She doesnt understand the diffrence, and she's always seemed rather like me to me... Hate to ask a dumb question, just wondering what the diffrence might be?

I'd like to know about this. The DSM-5 will supposedly drop Aspergers as a separate Dx and lump it with other ASD's, correct? But I read somewhere they're working on a new test that can differentiate between AS and HFA. Why are they doing this if a differential diagnosis won't be acknowledged anyway?

There's a lot of history to do with it, but here is a link that will tell you. It's quite informative.
