I just got a new iPhone 4-s, which has the feature of voice recognition for texting (and other functions). The phone is great, but it has a feature that I haven't yet read how to shut off: It flashes the camera flashbulb LED rapidly when the phone is ringing. It's a very disturbing light pulse, and I can't tolerate it. I made a neat square of black electrical tape to cover the LED, but I want to shut it off. Just a note for those also sensitive in the way I am, BEWARE it can do that, and be ready for it.

Not technical post about i-phone...

I know strobe lights are really bad for people with epilepsy (a trigger), but do they affect people with an ASD in any documented way? Is it just to do with light-sensitivity?
Just a question, as I'm looking at biological brain links between epilepsy and autism and the amygdala is implicated in both...

I know from experience that flashing lights can cause migraines.
Who's bright (no pun intended) idea was putting something that might cause a seizure/migraine in a phone any way...

I get mesmerised by bright lights or strobes of changing patterns of lights, find it hard to focus on anything else. Obviously not the level of a moth or anything, but it is very noticeable.
