I get the you need to have friends and hang out speech every so often from my family. After 24 years my parents still havent realized I dont have a need for and will not have a lot of friends like my NT brother. I have one person I consider a friend and we met about a 1 1/2 years ago while in school. We still keep in touch and talk (email or text message usually) just about everday, which is something ive never done with anyone else outside of family members. Just wondering if anyone has dealt with this and if you have a good way to explain that 1 friend is enough for you.

I used to get those kinds of speeches from my parents. After one too many of my parents' naggings I told them the truth about why I no longer hang out with my friends: they're either dead from years of drug abuse, or almost dead due to their battles with eating disorders (they wouldn't listen to me plead with them to eat and blocked my calls), or they're not getting out of jail anytime soon. Haven't had one of those conversations since.
