Courtney Love I don't think has AS...again, she's just crazy messed up.

She was dianosed at three years old.

I'm almost positive the late singer Eva Cassidy was Aspergers.

Also, Siobhan Magnus from American Idol I'm pretty sure has it.

The pokemon guy is a no.
I could not confirm Siobhan Magnus or Eva Cassidy.
Gary Numan a YES.

It would be most useful to improve the media image of Asperger's if more famous people "came out" as being diagnosed. Particularly those who who are respected in their field (It would be less helpful if those with troubled lives/ history of substance abuse/ convictions for homicide were the main examples).

The problem is convincing them to get diagnosed and be public about their condition. Given how many people on the forum are secretive about their diagnosis I can see why celebrities are not inclined to be open to the public.

It drives me crazy that people are embarrassed by it, but I understand. It is not fun having to try to explain everything to everyone.

I had read that he was a loner, and that he dropped out of school early (6th grade or so?). The problem in really trying to figure it out now, is that society is so different from what it was 100 years ago. At that time, the Victorian culture was still strong, and any weaknesses or flaws were covered up and not talked about. If he had trouble making or keeping friends, or came across as a strange character, it would have been hushed in favor of his reputation for the inventions. Nobody will ever know.

Are you sure? When Love was three AS would have been a very rare diagnosis. I saw a documentary on her, she seemed more borderline than AS (though with girls I'm sure my judgement isn't great).

There are a lot of sites that claim this. I'd give you some examples, but I don't have the time at the moment. Just google "Courtney Love autism." You'll get pleanty of hits.

Both of them are highly suspected to had/have it.

Here are some links on Eva Cassidy: Everything about her seemed VERY much like Aspergers.

I've seen multiple sources say the Pokémon guy was actually diagnosed with it, but I've seen ones that said he hasn't.

I know, but I'm looking for confirmed cases only. If you want to give me names, I'll do my best to confirm them, but the Pokemon guy is a definite "No." One of the sites that had him listed as a "Yes" received a letter from his company asking them to remove it from his biography because it isn't true.
