Was anyone else force fed Okra or any other atypical, bland foods or vegetables by parents who were secretive, desperate, in public denial and trying to force any little foolish remedy (that they probably heard from "some friend") to work?

I wish I was force fed Nootropics and essential vitamins, instead I just got the deceitful parents.

Sucks cause I only know the tip of the iceberg.

I'm 37 and I just connected the dots on the Okra thing. My parents were deceitful too. Thanks for that adjective, i've never assigned it to my parents but it's very appropriate.

Nootropics and essential vitamins?

My parents rarely tried to force foods upon me, but they did force me to eat okra... holy crap.

Okra? I'm missing something here. I was given fish a lot. I like fish.

Um, Okra? Never heard of this as a remedy for AS or autism. Anybody got any more info on this? Just curious, not looking for a "cure".

Yah, I found out about what's below the iceberg... had a meltdown, no longer get to know about under the water :s

Last year was rough, or should I say the truth was rough.

May I ask what you mean by "under the water?"

I hope next year is better.

My folks never had to force feed me anything since I would eat almost any food that was put on my plate. Kill it and I'd eat it....and even having it killed first was negotiable.

But I do hate okra unless it's fried.

It's among the typical greens, "bland diet" super nutrient fortified stuff

Just knowing they deceived us and that it was the only thing we were ever forced to eat, Okra is on my radar.

Back in the 70s, immigrants with different kids, desperate for relief would try anything which I believe is the explanation behind the force feeding.
