Coffee just makes me uncomfortable. It makes me feel like I have keep moving and makes it difficult for me to get my thoughts in order.

The crashes afterward also make me feel like crap.

I'm both ways. In the morning, right after I get up, two cups, every day, helps me wake up. I've got some histamine issues, and the coffee helps a lot.

In the afternoon though, it can sometimes knock me right out. One cup and it's nap time. But, that can also screw up my sleep for that night. It'll mess with my night sleep even if I don't take a nap. I try never to drink coffee after my first two cups of the day, in the morning, but on rare occasions I will have a little in the afternoon or evening, only if I have nothing important planned for the next morning.

I have my second cup as we speak. I don't like it too hot, though. I'd wait for like, 5 minutes, before I drink it. The first cup makes me fall asleep; the second one onward fires me up.

I also have ADD, so coffee helps me concentrate due to it's caffeine content (particularly useful as when I was younger I decided to stop taking Ritalin).

I need coffee first thing in the morning to get going, anything thereafter makes me jumpy, and if I have it after 5pm I won't have any chance of sleep. I'm NT, so I think this is in line with your bet/theory?

Depends how much I have. A few cups, especially in the morning, make me a lot more focused, more sociable, and less irritable. If I have too much I start stimming like crazy though.

Key word in there is "most"

Well most people I know like to sit down and have a nice cup of coffee in the afternoon or at work. Or tea.

Coffee definitely does not relax me, but I love it anyway. I can't have more than one cup a day though or I get extremely anxious,

Not at all. It definitely perks up my mind, and if I have more than one in a day, then it makes me jittery - a very unpleasant feeling.

This...but I'm on the spectrum.

I absolutely love coffee , it does put me a little more at ease and somewhat better at facing daily tasks . :) However, if anybody talks to me before I have my first one, I may react negatively.

I don't drink coffee, but I used to drink Cokes all the time and it always seemed to relax me. Caffeine has never kept me awake, except to the extent that I might wake up several times in the night needing to pee after drinking a lot of it.

Coffee = seizures.

So, it kind of does the opposite.

I used to self medicate with it when I had undiagnosed ADHD. When I had it with Ritalin I almost fell asleep.
And now...sigh.
