I've been getting stuck on this lately. I know that nonautistics interpret communication in the context of a social exchange, and that was always fine for me but I think I've outgrown the need for it. Has anyone found a protocol for conducting information exchange with them? I want to try something like "Here are my motives: [blah]. Here's why you need to know this: [blah]. Here is the information: [blaaah]." I'm tempted to add "Don't try to consciously engage with this because it won't make sense. You'll understand when you need to." But I'm not sure that helps.

If it is information exchange, that I can manage. I usually approach them with a question.
