I know we've had topics asking if people look young. I'm wondering if others also have young sounding voices.

People have told me that my voice makes them forget how old I am because there's some trait to my voice that makes me seem younger than I am. I'm not sure what it is but I'm curious if others on here also have young sounding voices.

It's not my voice, but the way I actually SPEAK. It sounds childish.

I do. And it's particularly handy when doing "cold calls" for work (which I had to do for a while and drove me nuts), because people will treat you more politely than if you sound like an adult

I sound like an uncertain 6 year old. I'm constantly like 'uh, well I dunno.'

Then I sound like Daniel Jackson or sound like the mother from parenthood.

I think I alternated between 6 years old and 12. Maybe the early teens.

At least on recordings I know I sound like a four year old. I work at a national park and using a radio is very necessary. I always feel awkward using it though because I know how immature I must sound from previous experience listening to myself on recordings.

No, but I've been told that I still have that teenager-ish tone.

Nope, pretty deep voice, for a female, just.. sort of flat-sounding ^_^

I'm constantly reminded over how effeminate my voice sounds over the phone, but I recall one person telling me that I sounded like a little boy. So, I either sound like a woman, or a little boy.

It all depends on me, I go from what I *think* is an "average" voice, but I also know I go through different tones and such depending on who I'm around or how nervous/ excited I am about something or someone. Most people think I'm my younger sisters twin brother a lot, which is funny because she's 14, I'm 27.. And I dress like a guy but there are certain... Erm.. Large parts that should make it glaringly obvious that I'm a girl. Apparently people dismiss logic and reason for stereotypes (large chested individual with short hair and guy clothing doesn't equal a tom boy in the NT world, it either equals a lesbian or a young boy  ) I'm guessing a young voice may have a lot to do with it.

I have a childlike voice and laugh but have learned to make them sound more mature/commanding depending on my audience.

My voice sounds young-ish, but also like a brain-damaged drunk on the phone. I can't figure out why it sounds so terrible on a phone but normal when speaking in person.
