Just curious.

And if people are still debating the existence of autistic facial features, I was just going by the studies and am oblivious to any controversy and am not trying to offend lol.

I know you're pretty new but you're going to offend people just by saying that you're the only one "going by the studies" around here :lol:

I'm not new (former member).

I didn't say ONLY lol and I also didn't and don't know if there are other studies that contradict the studies I'm talking about.

So, I just mean the very recent studies that have been in the news.

If this does offend, I can only tell you right now that I'm probably going to ignore all the users who seem like they want to argue because i'm kind of busy today.

Only reason I made the disclaimer is because I know it was a source of debate in the past.

Her expression is normal, so you can't say her face is autistic just by looking at it. Autism does not cause any specific physical builds as Autism refers to a mental thing, not the specific physical things that may cause it, though some genes that may cause Autism may cause certain face shapes.

Her face isn't stimming.
Her face isn't flapping.
Her face isn't obsessed with routines that I can see.
Her face doesn't show social anxiety.
Her face isn't having a meltdown.
Her face is not autistic.

Last I've checked, autism isn't like down syndrome where you can tell by looking at someone's face.

I find it a little unsettling that people are trying to find our physical differences and I can guarantee you it isn't to be more understanding.
More likely to weed us out more effectively.

Autistics get called out for their "strange" obsessions yet I'm getting this idea that people are obsessed with autistics. I find that to be a strange obsession. Perhaps they need to either stop being obsessed with us to keep up with the image that only autistics have strange obsessions or just admit perhaps they have something in common with autism as well.

FWIW my face is shaped this way and my eyes are "sunken in" or whatever like her's are, I saw this is a description for Aspie eyes in another thread.

Its kinda why I stopped caring about studies anymore. They all either tend to repeat facts that are already known or serve to pigeonhole us even moreso. That and I don't trust have the researchers and stuff anymore. People can be bought and a lot of what they come out with just tends to support pharmaceutical companies. So yeah I tend to not trust anything, even from so called reputable sources nowadays.

Though it is a pretty face she is simply displaying a non-duchenne smile, that is one that is polite but doesn't particularly have any genuine warmth, much like you might find while waiting for someone to scan your apples through the check-out.

A genuine smile instead pulls the entire back of the head between the ears together, so much so that you can actually feel it, and it shows
