What would be an ideal NT to AS ratio for the population?

So currently the population is 99.something % NT and less than 1% Autism/Aspie.

While have accepted my AS and others, I undestand that in terms of social and interacting it would be ideal to have an NT majority. That being said, we definately need more Aspies, goes without saying,

Bottom line, life without either NT or AS would suck. I wouldn't want the world to be just Aspies or just NT's. But I strongly believe we need more Autistic peiple

My ideal ratio would be 75% NT and 25% Aspies. What's yours?

38 : 150, would be a more ideal ratio, about 25% aspie to 75% NT

Those ratios mentioned are only if you define NT as non-Autistic. There are many significant neurological differences aside from the autism spectrum. The unique viewpoints of dyslexics, ADHD (not otherwise on the autistic spectrum) and other learning differences make the world a more interesting place as well.

Actually, a society with 100% NTs would be quite happy to have no autistic people. It's kind of like saying a society with 100% kind people would be quite happy to have no meanies around. Or, a society with 100% Christians would be happy to have no radical islamists.

Anyway, as far as "ideal for everyone, including minorities" it should be more equally balanced so social isolation and bullying wouldn't be such a problem for psychological minority groups -- maybe 5% schizos, 5% adhd, 5% autism, etc. with lots of overlap and 5% "pure neurotypicals". But, I think the current ratio would be ideal considering the environment (Including the 'environment' that is society.), otherwise if it wasn't ideal, the ratio would be changing. And, let's face it, autism IS a disability in a society that has progressed almost entirely due to efficient, effective communication and "team work" and large numbers of autistic individuals would mostly just increase the overall burden on society due to lessened efficiency in communication.

However, ASDs might be becoming more frequent in the population considering the future is becoming ever more technologically evolved, so the ratio may be increasing.

I also think that the ideal ratio would be 25:75. There would be more awareness and acceptance if that was the case.

I've never contemplated the matter with specific regard to aspies, but I know that when I pondered it with regard to ADD, I came up with roughly 5-10%. Too few, and society gets stuck in a rut and goes nowhere because it's too busy burning witches. Too many, and society becomes completely dysfunctional as the garbage piles up & nothing gets done on time.

If everybody were an introvert who preferred solitude, the human race would have been at serious risk of dying out between the time women figured out that sex causes pregnancy & the development of effective birth control... and almost as much danger of dying out afterwards, if women collectively decided that kids were less interesting than engineering or photography.

If everyone were nice and tried to get along and understand that each group is different, it wouldn't matter what the ratio is.
