I have to be one of the most unorganized people in the world. I am always throwing caution to the wind by letting important documents and files sit around randomly in my room. The only time I clean my room is when my parents tell me to, and if they haven't told me for say a week, my room is a pig-sty.

So are you organized, or completely unorganized like me?

Does organization have to do with the spectrum?

I am very disorganized, and when I try to organize things that just ends up confusing me more than if I had just left them unorganized.

I'm pretty unorganized. I keep some shelves and drawers in order, but everything else is thrown everywhere. I think I have too much stuff for my little room.

I like to be organised. I feel really irritable and unhappy when things aren't neat and in their place.

Very disorganised. Very bad at keeping my room clean (it's hygienically clean, but there are clothes, shoes, books and pieces of paper all over the floor-- all the time).

Very disorganized, but I also have severe ADD, which pretty much accounts for it. I do though, occasionally go through "mass-organization" phases that I believe are brought on by my Autistic hatred for chaos, but never manage to keep things that way because of my ADD.

Another interesting and very frustrating example of how AS and ADD can conflict with one another.

Disorganized.

However, this is a coping strategy to combat "Plain Sight Blindness". That is the not seeing things in plain sight. If it is a mess, nothing is in plain sight. Therefore it is easy to find because I can see it

Now., my email at work, at one point, was maxed out on rules on where to sort my mail. I have fixed that problem by combining some of the rules. It is hyper-organized.

My books and dvds are divided by genre and the books are aligned following dimension (decreasing from left to right). My notes are all written with the same pens and always have the same structure. My external hard disk almost has more folders than files.
Yet, ALL my clothes are constantly on the floor, and there are piles of paper everywhere, I forget to throw away stuff that I don't use anymore, always forget to change my bed sheets, lose important things such as phone, keys, glasses, all the time...
Funny to notice now that all I wrote could be synthetized with

That is me too. Even though my things are often scattered wherever, I can usually find them---at least eventually. But if I straighten things up, whoa...I may never see certain things again for a long time.

I'm not sure how to answer, my default mode looks hyper-chaotic but I know where everything is and everybody else is hopelessly confused; so to me the mess is really organization, and very likely a defense mechanism to keep my sanctum private.

I'm rather organized. I don't like to leave trash or dishes or dirty clothes out. I like my things to be in one place, and designate certain areas for particular items. On the contrary end of that I'm a rather unclean person. I don't really pay too much attention to when my last shower was, but I do put on deodorant and change my clothes everyday. I'm lazy about making my bed and doing the sheets sometimes too.

I am very disorganised, but I overcompensate with superficial organisation. I organise things like my possesions and collections, and line things up, etc. Everything has it's proper place. This can look to an outsider like I am very organised, but it is in fact just pointlessly anal. The things in my life that need to be organised are not done very well at all, and all too often not even attempted as I procrastinate and try to "brush it all under the carpet".
People always make the assumption that because I can look highly organised, it means that I am. This assumption is wrong and damaging because people assume I don't need help and structure. So they let me fend for myself until everything gets way out of my depth and I make all sorts of costly mistakes (which I must add I rarely learn from).
People see me with a tidy room or workplace and I bet they don't think for a minute that my parents have to do all of my financial tasks for me and make sure I get my priorities right, otherwise I'd eventually end up homeless. Although I'm currently living at home this will inevitbly change, and me and my parents all know full well that I will continue to need their support for many years to come. Unfortunate.

I'm fed up with people that don't even know me saying things like "I can see you're a very organised guy" and similar terms. I just want to tell them to get lost because they shouldn't make assumptions about people they know nothing about.
It annoys me that people expect so much from me with something that I am so unskilled at. I find it very frustrating.
