Reading over old threads I noticed that there are a lot of people who feel the need to chew on things. I recently found this great thing called chew beads. They were made for mothers to wear for their babies to chew on and they look like necklaces. It is a good option because it is easy to disguise. Does anyone else have any chewy or other sensory soothing options (especially for in public)?

My son wore chewelry necklaces when he was young. He has since grown out of them, but they definatley served their purpose at the time.

I chew on pens, plastic water cups and straws mostly. Chewing gum is too soft for me too.
Straws are mostly acceptable in public so I get a large drink with a straw, something like frappe or smoothie, and I don't bother to drink the drink quickly.
