When watching the Parenthood episode of Autism talk TV?

When the other cast were talking about Max in the show I thought they were talking about Max (the actor). I thought he could be on the spectrum what with his inability to stand still and speech patterns and then when they were going on about how surprised they were about Max, I thought they meant he actually had Asperger's. Not the character, the actor.

I was almost like, 'awesome an AS actor playing an AS character' but no.

Anyone else want to fess up? Or am I alone in this mix up?

Also, actors really need to practice before being interviewed.

He's the only one I could stand to watch. I wanted to whap the mother for talking for him. I wasn't sure whether he actually had AS or not. The others just bugged.

I have not seen that video, but I recall confusion like that in the past, talking about people and the roles they play. I have nothing specific, I mostly just remember asking, "Wait, are we talking about so-and-so or so-and-so's character?". But then I was one of those LARPers in the 90s and this kind of confusion was likely common in that environment.

I can't resist. What's a LARPer? And Verdandi, your avatar cat looks just like my Cinder.

Both the actor and the character he plays are named Max.

That's what made me think he did have AS because my mum spent my first 16 years of life talking for me. It was like she was his mother.
Were they both still in character?

i liked watching him too, he talked way more than the others, even if he did stammer a bit. Heck, I stammer all the time.

I know. Hence the confusion but I still can't help think he has it too.
I've seen two seasons of Parenthood. I know a lot about the show.

Sometimes people talk about the character as if they are a real person they know. That is well confusing.

Thank you.

I won't be able to see it unless I go over to my daughter's house or it gets to Netflix. Please tell me the characters have more personality than they showed in the interview.

Sorry for stating the obvious, it's midnight where I am and I'm tired.

The teacher guy is not as dull in character.

Peter Krause would have interviewed well and who plays Amber's mum, or who plays Amber. At least I think that's her name.

They really knew very little about Asperger's which is weird to see given how long I could talk about it.

There should be a new description for monotone; sleep deprived NT actors.

Live action roleplay. Youtube will not give you an accurate picture, but it will give you a picture of the people who like to mock others' hobbies for "looking weird."

My cat avatar is Miss Kitty Fantastico, Willow and Tara's cat from the fourth season of Buffy: The Vampire Slayer. Sadly, MKF was forgotten in later seasons, which was addressed in the 6th or 7th season off the cuff remark about Dawn having an "accident" with a crossbow, which I think was intended to be funny, but made me very, very sad.

This is the kitten in action:

I mostly picked the avatar because swbluto asked if Aspies tend to have avatars of fictional characters and NTs have avatars of cute animals (or maybe it was the other way around), so I changed to a fictional character who was a cute animal and asked him "Where is your god now?" I do not recall that he ever answered, so perhaps it was not as funny as I thought.

I did have a tuxedo cat when I was a child, which somehow ended up being named "Popcorn." He was actually pretty aloof. He liked attention, but only in limited doses. I do not remember what happened to him, only that when we moved to another house, he didn't come along.

Innit, though? (sorry, my best friend is Australian and uses phrases like "well confusing and "innit" all the time, so I sort of link one to the other).

It really is confusing.

You Tube has some great stuff but mostly confirms my low opinion of the human race. I really wish there was a better filter function so I didn't have to worry so much about the kid getting into the wrong stuff.

I've seen the reactions of the mundanes to LARPers. I just didn't put the acronym together. The bozos in a coffee shop were making fun of a couple of young men who were playing Vampire. Their costumes were exquisite. I was ticked off enough to stick up for them.

My Cinder is my fur daughter. I raised her since she was a week old.

Yeah, I played Vampire for about five years. It was pretty much my social life, which was good: I got to engage in my interests and talk about my interests and hang around people who sounded as obsessed as I did. It's really no different from any other social activity beyond that, except we were often better dressed.

It gave me an excuse to wear velvet whenever I wanted. Like I needed an excuse.

I've had many pet cats over the years. I've lost some to moves and some to death. :( I thought I had a kitten recently, but I suspect my niece took said kitten and gave him to her cheating lying boyfriend, and said decision is going to have some consequences soon. Due to drama issues and double standards around here, I'm probably going to try rats as pets next, since I can at least keep them in my room and away from thieving relatives.
