I don't care about it entirely much, as in I'm not hypersensitive to it or anything like that, but I can see where you're coming from. One thing I notice, in music releases nowadays, everything is trying to be more "loud" and "boomy." Like, if you listen to a remaster of, let's say, a Pink Floyd album, from 2005 or so on a CD, it's basically gotten louder and more "boomy" compared to the original CD that came out in the 80s. I think most people can't notice sound details, so they think if it's louder, it sounds better. Also, one possible reason why people think a vinyl LP sounds better than a CD, isn't so much the actual mediums themselves, but it's probably just that the vinyl is mastered more traditionally, instead of just being loud like a CD.
That's my beef in music, but in movies, not too much beef, just yeah, sometimes there's sound effects when there's not much reason for them to be there. Sometimes I much prefer arty quiet kinda movies, just because it's not gonna be all ACTION SUSPENSE ALL THE TIME YEAH!
